History buff and also liked watching The History Channel. Maria enjoyed doing cross stitch and crocheting, and loved a good story, both hearing and telling them. She loved her Lord and Savior and enjoyed going to church and listening to contemporary Christian music. Maria was a former florist and also worked for AT&T as a call assistant for the hearing impaired.
2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister Georgia Blair-Indiana; her church family; and a host of friends and loved ones. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Thelma worked hard and believed in taking care of her family. She kept a tidy and clean home, helped mow and trim the yard, raised a garden and canned what she grew.

Holifield, her brother Richard Holifield, her son Randy Crowe, and her grandchildren Danny Crowe and Tyler Crowe. On Sunday February 20, 2022 Elsie Lee Miller, age 89 of Pearl River, LA went peacefully to be with our Lord. She was a member of the NOLA Winnie Travel Club and a member of First Baptist Church in Pearl River, La. Elsie was a caring woman who spent most of her life thinking about others. She always surrounded herself with her friends and family, which is where she felt most comfortable and loved.
Thomas Tilmer Morris, born November 19, 1943, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 in Slidell, La at the age of 76. Mary Ellen Blackledge, born June 27, 1931 in New Orleans, La., passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 in Slidell, La. at the age of 89. She was a housewife and mother and was of the Baptist faith. Lisa Marie Miller, born September 23, 1965 in Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 in Pearl River, Louisiana at the age of 55. Frank L Hilliard, Jr, resident of Slidell, LA for the past 55 years. Frank went to be with the Lord December 31, 2020 at the age of 97.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Tuesday July 19, 2022 at the Payne Gap Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend David Rose and Pastor Hollis Bevins officating. Pound VFW Post 9600 will conduct military services on the church parking lot. Burial will follow at the Rose Family Cemetery-Millstone, KY where Johnny Rose, Michael Rose, David Rose, Robert Rose, Jerrick Rose and Brayden Rose will serve as pallbearers. Glenn was a true servant, he served his Lord and made every effort to help others and was loved by all who met him. He was a man of his word, if he told you something you could depend on it. Glenn loved his Lord, his family, his church family and his country.
He will be forever cherished and missed by his loving family. Roy went to Heaven to be with his loving wife of 60 years Joycelyn Mercier Mistretta, his parents Carmelo Mistretta and Katherine Laborde, his daughter Rhonda LaBiche, grandson Andrew Perreand, son in law Phil Haney, and his siblings Leon, Tony, Frank, Josephine, Steve, and Emile Mistretta. On Monday January 17, 2022 Lena Ann Hocke Ohlenforst, age 81 of Pearl River, LA went peacefully to be with our Lord surrounded by her loving family. She will be forever cherished in the hearts of all those she knew and loved. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pearl River, LA. She enjoyed spending all her time with her family and friends.

Graveside Services were held at Crowe Cemetery in Lacombe, Louisiana. On Tuesday August 18, 2020 Wilda Oretha Johnston Harper, age 85 of Pearl River, LA passed on to be with our Lord. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Pearl River, La and taught at Doyle High School in Livingston Parish and S. Wilda is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Verna Johnston, her son James Estes Harper, grandson Paul Willis Harper, and her siblings Titus Johnston, Samuel Johnston, Ralph Johnston, Allen Johnston, Arvin Johnston, Carvin Johnston, and Delores Johnston.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, the late Janet and Elmer Faye, Sr. Visitation for Carl will be held on Thursday November 3, 2022 from 6 pm to 9 pm at 1st Pentecostal Church in Slidell, LA, and again on Friday November 4, 2022 from 9 am until 11 am with the funeral starting at 11 am. Interment to follow at Hickory Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Pearl River, LA. Brother Donald Bryan to be officiating. And Bobbie Dickerson, and brother, George Edward Dickerson.
Wonderful husband, dad, father in law, grandpa, great grandpa and had many friends. James Isaac Hayton, Austin Sexton and Brody Ring; a brother Jerry Owens-Coeburn, VA; brother-in-law William “Pig” Powers-Pound, VA; sister-in-law Betty Owens-Pound, VA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of close personal friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Rose; a son, Donnie Edward Rose; his parents, Ed and Flora Rose; sisters Aloria Cantrell, Goldie Mae Hopkins and Judy Carnell Rose and brothers Otis Rose, Wesley Rose, Ray Rose and Delmar Rose. In addition to his parents Wallace was preceded in death by his first wife Doris Whitehorn and his second wife Magielenie Whitehorn; a son Mark Whitehorn; sisters Laverne Whitehorn, Nettie Ward and Gladys Jones; and brothers George, Nathan, Walter, Alton and Norman Whitehorn. Of Charlotte, NC; several nieces, nephews and cousins; her church family and a host of caring friends. Carol was retired from Wise County Schools where she spent many years working as a special education aide and bus driver.
A private family services was held for Michael and per her wishes she was to be cremated and a Celebration of Life graveside service wil lbe conducted at a later date at the Allen Family Cemetery- Maytown, KY. Baker Funeral Home-Pound, VA is serving the family of Earlon Mullins. He was a people person loved to tell tales and pull pranks on everyone.
Mr. Sherman is survived by a son, Sherman Jordan, Jr. , 3 daughters, Elizabeth Sullivan , Patricia Rhodes and Susan McLemore, a brother, Kelvin Jordan and 3 sisters, Wanda Bergeron , Virginia Spiers , Nettie Ryan . He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren. Pyrrha's struggle with life and acceptance ended on October 24, 2021. She was loved by those who were fortunate enough to know her well.
He was loved and adored by his family and friends who all rest easy knowing he is sharing in God’s glory with loved ones who have preceded him in death. He is preceded in death by his parents Joyce Depreo and George Duval Sr. He will be greatly missed , but his memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
